Using Zoom with LumiNUS

We have an increase in test usage. We will increase the capability. Please use the test site for ALL testing purposes in the meantime. 
You can still launch a Zoom session, invite participants, test the audio, video and share your screen. Only breakout and recording not available.
  1. Scheduling a session. In your module, go to  Tools > Conferencing and click Create Session.
  2. Provide the session details. Select "Send Emails" if you want students to be notified. Click Create.


  3. Session created, click on the Session Title 10 minutes before the session starts to launch Zoom.
  4. LumiNUS Becoming the Host:
  5. Reclaim Host Role to gain control of the session. Click on Participant Button > Claim Host. Type in the session's 6 digit Host Key displayed in LumiNUS.

  6. You are now ready to interact with your students.

  7. Local MP4 recording is available if you are the host. It will record the screen, video and audio. Manually save text chat in the chat window.
    The MP4 will be in your PC's My Documents/Zoom folder a few minutes after the meeting ends. You can the upload the MP4 file to your module's Multimedia folder in LumiNUS.

Additional Information

  1. A meeting host/presenter is able to mute or remove anyone from a session if required.

  2. To share YouTube clips, you will need to select Share computer sound and Optimize for full-screen video clip when sharing the browser.


Alternative Platform

You can also use Microsoft Teams for online lessons/meetings, chat and file sharing. 

All NUS Staff, Students and Visitors have access to Office 365 and Teams with NUSNET ID.
