Modes of Teaching
- The modules will be conducted via blended learning
Pre-recorded Video Lecture + Online Forum/Online Quiz + Class Tutorials + Written Assignments/Project
- Students will attend a 2-hour tutorial fortnightly
Grading Basis
GEQ1000: Completed Satisfactory (CS) / Completed Unsatisfactory (CU). Students do not need to exercise their S/U option.
GER1000: Graded. Students are allowed to exercise their S/U option.

For students matriculated in AY2015/16 ONLY: -
- For students reading GER1000 in Semester 1 of his/her first academic year of study, they are able to utilize their Grade-Free First Semester to S/U this module.
- For students reading GER1000 in Semester 2 of his/her first academic year of study, they are allowed to carry forward 4MCs of unused S/U from their Grade-Free First Semester to be used for GER1000 only.
- Students from Bachelor of Technology may exercise their S/U option on GER1000 utilizing their Grade-Free First Semester S/U if they read the module within their first academic year of study.
- This carry forward is also subject to the prevailing rules on all carry forward S/U options.
- For students who opt to read GER1000 beyond his/her first academic year of study, s/he may use the 12 MCs of S/U, which can be used at any time during a student's candidature.
Repeat Module
As GEQ1000 and GER1000 are the only modules offered under their respective GE pillars, students who attained a F/CU/U grade will have to re-read the module in another Semester. The module will NOT be automatically pre-allocated; students would have to send in an appeal if s/he wishes to re-read the module in a particular Semester.
Students are not allowed to repeat modules they have achieved grade D or better/CS/S.
