It is helpful to make the overall design of the module clear to students at the beginning of the module. The module overview and introduction set the tone, so it is a good idea to inform students at the start what to expect, and to provide guidance to ensure students get off to a good start. Such details could be made available for students to access in LumiNUS, under Module Overview. Aside from a module overview and introduction, we suggest teachers consider providing the following details under Module Overview: learning outcomes, modes of assessment, module schedule, technology to be used to support students’ learning and details on the types of support provided during the module. The following sections provide more details on some of these areas.
